So glad we choose the Premier Inn Helston for our short 4-day break. Situated on the outskirts of Helston in a quiet location, it was easy to get to and had ample parking with CCTV 👍
We found the staff to be friendly and genuinely helpful. Our room was, as Premier Inn rooms tend to be, clean and tidy with the usual tea/coffee making facilities.
During our stay (2 weeks before Christmas) we didn’t hear a sound from the other guests, which we put down to the rather creative signage ‘Please tiptoe’ on the internal doors!
However there were two things that stopped us giving 5 🌟
1) insufficient storage for a 4 night stay.
2) lack of fresh air! - sadly our window, and were others in the block, were NOT for opening. So you’re reliant on the AC etc. that worked fine, but not the same as fresh air!
For two of our 4 nights we ate at the May Tree which is just a short 1 minute walk from the Inn. We liked the layout of small areas with 4-5 tables in each, which made them feel cozy. There was a good selection of food and drinks, all sensibly priced. And like the Inn the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful 👍
Would we go back. . . Oh yes!
We've just come home after staying here for three nights. We only used the hotel as a place to sleep, in preference to a blow-up mattress at the home of the relations we went to see.
Room was clean and comfortable (especially the bed). Staff very pleasant and helpful, and made us feel welcome when we arrived.
One negative point: like many air-conditioned hotels, the windows can't be opened. My wife found that slightly claustrophobic.
A decent hotel with a great pub attached - excellent food and good service. The room was lovely and quiet, with very comfortable bed!
Terrible experience. Avoid.
Booked flexi booking online. Within the cancellation window I attempted to cancel online but the booking reference was not found, rang customer services booking reservation not found, attempted to contact hotel directly repeatedly and no one picks up.
When my colleagues arrived at the hotel, the hotel assured my colleagues there was no booking and no charge would be made.
However the charge was still made to my account despite no booking. Looked online and I'm not the only one to have this issue, seems like a corrupt company policy.
Typically good Premier Inn. Room clean and ready for us. Good drink facilities. Callum at the front desk was really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good, well laid out, hot and fresh. A good selection of items.
Awful experience. Disgusting smells as soon as you enter the hallway and the smell coming from the drains was awful, after 3 days I wanted to sleep in the car. Black mould all over the bathroom floor. Beware that if you experience any issues make sure you make a big fuss at the time as otherwise they don't seem to care. Wish I had but the staff were really nice so I didn't want to be difficult or put them out.
We had a night here thanks to Storm Ciaran. Lovely clean room and it was quiet! Staff were friendly and helpful. The May Tree next door is a good place for a meal.
I visited family. It was perfect for that. Room has a/c and the WiFi was fast and free. Just as well as no signal on my mobile network. Great food at the maytree for breakfast and dinner. Kids loved it 1st time away. The price was good for the time I went but it changes at kids hols etc.
Over all a great experience and I will use again when I visit family next.
